Debunking misinformation and publishing fact checks is essential but a new, unprecedented, project will soon help us understand better the disinformation phenomenon. “Narratives Observatory combatting Disinformation in Europe Systemically” or NODES is a pilot project set up by seven research and media partners including AFP, coming from four European countries and co-funded by the European Commission.
AFP has the largest network in the world of expert journalists in charge of digital investigations. AFP’s fact-check service is covering 36 countries. In Asia alone, 11 countries and territories in five languages, including English, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malay and Burmese. Burmese is the 14th language to be added to the AFP Fact Check website.
AFP is currently a partner in 14 European projects focused on fact-checking, innovation, media collaboration, data journalism, and the development of content-exchange platforms.
