AFP is offering a two-month traineeship with our Slovak fact-check site, Fakty, for a young person with a strong interest in investigating disinformation and misinformation circulating on social networks.

It is a good opportunity to learn the basics with AFP's fast-growing fact-checking network, which is a leading actor in the global fight against disinformation.

We will provide the successful applicant with training in the digital verification techniques and tools required to find and debunk disinformation online. In return, we expect publishable fact-check articles in Slovak and possibly Czech.

The position comes with financial remuneration corresponding to published production. It would suit an agile aspiring journalist who can easily navigate social networks.

Applicants must have Slovak as a first language; excellent Czech would be a strong advantage. Good English (C1) and basic training or experience in journalism are required. This position is intended for solo contractors.
