AFP journalists honoured at the Human Rights Press Awards in Hong Kong
Anuj Chopra and Noel Celis has been honoured at the Human Rights Press Awards Hong Kong.
The last edition of the Human Rights Press Awards, jointly organized by Amnesty International Hong Kong and Hong Kong Journalists Association, has honoured AFP Journalists.
Kabul bureau chief Anuj Chopra won the best “English News Feature” for his series of investigative reports on the practice of “bacha-bazi” – child sex-slavery – in Afghanistan.
Manila-based photographer Noel Celis picked up the “Photography Feature” prize for his photo essay on the inmates of the Philippines’ Quezon City jail.
Bangladesh bureau chief Shafiqul Alam and Dhaka reporter Sam Jahan were joint runners-up in the “English News Feature” category with their reports on Rohingya Muslims fleeing a crackdown in Myanmar.
