Belgian and Luxembourgish platform fighting disinformation EDMO BELUX launches its first actions.

Belgium and Luxembourg are located at the confluence of multiple communities and cultures. Both capitals of multi-lingual states and headquarters of European institutions, Brussels and Luxembourg are places where disinformation can spread fast and have a major impact. Olivier Morin’s exhibition at the Foreign Correspondent’s Club in Hong Kong

Olivier Morin recently spent time with surfers on the beaches of Norway’s Lofoten Islands.

Above the Arctic Circle, men and women were taking surf lessons in snowstorms on Unstad Beach, with a ir temperatures dropping to around 13 degrees Celsius (9 degrees Fahrenheit).

As day turned to night, some surfers stayed behind to witness the northern lights, with a few even venturing to paddleboard under the bright night skies.

Morin photographed several days of surfing, capturing these beautiful scenes of sunshine, snowfall, surfing, sunsets, and the aurora borealis.

AFP wins 4 prizes at the 2021 POYi Awards

Kirill Kudryavtsev, an AFP photographer based in Moscow, won an Excellence Award in the “Space on Earth” category for his photo of a women walking under snowfall in front of a Soyuz rocket installed as a monument in Baikonur city, near the Russian leased Kazakh Baikonur cosmodrome on December 05, 2021.

AFP photographer Brendan Smialowski wins 10 prizes at the WHNPA

Brendan Smialowski won “Photographer of the Year” and “Political Photo of the Year” in the Top Honors category. He won the political photo prize for this image of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, US President Joe Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov before a meeting in Geneva on 16 June 2021.
