With the French presidential election approaching, AFP is taking part in two initiatives aimed at fighting fake news. The Agency is joining initiatives by the First Draft network, which is launching the CrossCheck project, and Facebook, with its fact checking tool that is incorporated into the social network.

On the proposal of Global News Director Michèle Léridon, AFP Chairman Emmanuel Hoog has named Marielle Eudes as Photo Director, replacing Francis Kohn. Philippe Onillon will be the new director for careers and development.
The BBC has selected AFPTV as a key supplier of english-language video news, significantly expanding its relationship with the Paris-headquartered international news agency AFP
Under a multi-year agreement starting April 1, 2017, the British broadcaster will receive edited and live video from AFPTV for use on all its platforms: television channels, websites and mobile applications as well as radio for audio production.
