In preparation for the European parliamentary elections between June 6-9, Agence France-Presse (AFP) is working on multiple projects to help fight the spread of disinformation, promote electoral integrity and uphold democratic values across the continent.

The European Newsroom (enr) is pleased to welcome seven new members. Now, a total of 23 news agencies from Europe are involved in the new round of the cooperation project. Agence France-Presse detected an attack on its IT systems on Friday, affecting part of its delivery service to clients. It is not yet known who carried out this attack or why.

AFP's technical teams are working on the incident with the support of the French National Agency for IT Systems Security (ANSSI). The relevant authorities in France have been notified.
